The current Head of the ECVN-South’s representative board in Dak Lak Province, Pastor Y Tuan Mlo, is of the Ede ethnicity and has served in various positions in the provincial government. In October 2023, the GCRA included him in its delegation visiting the United States to advocate for the removal of Vietnam from the U.S. Department of State’s Special Watch List.[1] An article dated January 31, 2024 in the People’s Newspaper, the official organ of CPV, featured Pastor Mlo defending the public trial of 100 suspects in the June 11, 2023 Dak Lak Province shootings and extolling the CPV and the State for policies and investment on infrastructure to improve the quality of life of the ethnic communities in the Central Highlands.[2]
